Visit from St. Giles and Hogst

The last years we’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know the St. Giles Foundation, which operates in England and Wales. With their slogan “turning a past into a future”, they have a lot in common with us in KBT vocational college. This week, we got a visit from St. Giles, and a company from Trøndelag, Hogst.

At the meeting, Hogst told us about their model with social inclusion in practice. Hogst deliver services within forest maintaining. With their course “omstart” (restart”, persons with lived experience get practical work experience and a way into the work market. The main target group, as we understand it, is people between 18-40 years old with a history of getting in prison. The main owners of Hogst is TrønderEnergi (an energy company) and the Norwegian Red Cross.

In this meeting we explored what the HOGST model can teach us about developing green skills pathways for people with lived experience.

Thank you all for the visit!
